TV Fool report: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29&q=id%3de779b32f04bca5

I'm currently using a flat amplified indoor antenna, the RCA ANT1450BM. I am able to pick up CW (47.1), PBS (35.1), CBS (19.1), MyN (63.1), and Fox (57.1) currently. I am unable to pick up ABC (8) or NBC (10.1).

I read that the flat antenna may have trouble with VHF channels, so I purchased a cheap bunny-ear antenna, the RCA ANT111, in an attempt to alleviate the problem. Unfortunately, after trying several locations around my apartment, the ANT111 has been unable to pick up ABC or NBC, but it is picking up CBS, PBS, and CW.

I'm in an apartment, so indoor antennas are the only thing I can currently do. I have a large window in my living room that faces in the direction of the transmitters for channels 8, 17, 39, 48 as shown on the report.

I really would like to receive ABC and NBC through an indoor antenna. Any ideas?

A good starting point would be to adjust the length of each dipole rod on the 'bunny ears' to about 14 5/8". Also, adjust them so they are as close to parallel to the ground as possible. To aim, one rod tip should be pointing to the NW and the other to the SE... (The loop should be facing about 70° per a compass. The type antenna you have receives the same front and rear.)

Thanks for the help GroundUrMast.

I did as you said and the rod length on the bunny ears is ~14 5/8". By "parallel to the ground", I'm assuming you mean the two rods should be as far apart from each other as possible. I also positioned the antenna in the direction you stated. I am now able to pick up 63.1 (MyN) with the new position, but sadly still no NBC or ABC.

Is the antenna at the window with a view toward the NE?

Did you re-scan for channels?

Yes to both.

It sounds as if you may need to consider using an outdoor antenna indoors.

The RCA ANT-751 is not so large that it can't fit inside. Of course, the esthetics are for you to judge.
