Antenna suggestions?

Looking to get rid of my satellite subscription. Still have the old 27" analog tv but getting a new HD flat screen next week. Would like suggestions on an antenna. I live in a rural area and don't mind putting something on the roof. I have the existing dish mount on the roof now. Here is my location report. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Your main stations are to your East, but there are a few to your South. Which channels are you interested in? One or both groups?

Are there large trees on your property?

Most interested in the ones to the East (Jacksonville).
I can get a fairly clear line to the East without going thru any close trees. There would be some scattered trees maybe 200 - 300 feet away. Right now my dish is on the northwest corner of the roof so if I put an antenna there and pointed it East it would be going thru the house. But I can relocate the Antenna anywhere on the roof. I have a 2 story house and the dish is currently on the roof porch which is a first story roof.

For best reception of the channels to your East.

Move your Sat pole to the East side of the house, above the roof.

Install an RCA ANT751 antenna aimed to 91 degrees magnetic.

Remove all splitters/diplexers ect. from the satellite system, and replace with ones that are designed for DTV (5-1000 mhz min). You can use the Sat coax.

If you are connecting more than one set, I recommend you install a Channel Master 3410 distribution amplifier just ahead of your first splitter.

Aim the ANT751 at about 91 degree magnetic compass direction.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a real fine job of reducing or blocking Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own house.

It is best mount/install the ANT751 at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions in the direction of reception.

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv Channels , sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.
