Advice on Antenna Type and Direction

Hello-

I am seeking some advice on the type of antenna I need and also which direction that would be most beneficial for my situation. Based on what I have researched and read, I assume I will need to purchase a large directional antenna with Pre-Amp. I am most interested in the four major networks (CBS,NBC,ABC,FOX). The antenna will be mounted approximately 22' above ground with surrounding trees.

Is there a specific antenna manufacturer rated better than others?

I currently have cable ($125 a month) and would like to cut the cord and only pay for Internet which I calculate will save me around $60.00 a month.

Any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated.

For reception of the Digital Tv stations/channels to the , south west , south , south east.

The Networks you have listed and many more digital Tv stations/channel will be received.

Above the roof , Install a Winegard HD7696P antenna with a Winegard AP8700 preamp , aimed at about 190 degree magnetic compass direction.

For 1 Tv connected use no splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a HFS-2D , 2 way splitter.

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv Channels , sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a real fine job of , reducing or blocking Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions.

Mount the antenna at a location that has the least amount or no amount of obstructions.
