Antenna Selection Help

I need help selecting an antenna and also some installation recommendations. I would prefer an attic mount, but could do a roof mount if there are some compelling reasons for me to do so. I am considering the Winegard HD7694P High Definition VHF/UHF Antenna or the RCA ANT751R Outdoor Antenna. Any other recommendations would be appreciated.

If you have a standard shingle roof with no foil backed insulation, and no large trees near your house to the NW.

Mount the Winegard HD7694 in the attic. Aim the antenna to 50 degrees magnetic.

Your signal is strong enough that you could run up to four sets without the use of an amplifier.

Kansas City is an all-UHF city. There is no need for anything other than a small 2-bay UHF bowtie for these stations. I've give my family members in your neighborhood DB2 antennas and they've worked fine, even receiving several of the Topeka UHF stations. Both of the antennas you suggested would likely receive KC locals even if pointed at Topeka, but neiither are an exact fit for KC-only reception.

Now, if you want more than just the Kansas City stations, you do have viable options to get reception from Topeka and St Joe in addition to KC. A long-range 7-51 antenna on a rotor with a high-input pre-amp should work fine for this expanded option.

The Tv transmissions at your location are Very Strong.

No antenna amplifier is required.

If the attic is wood construction with , no metal backed insulation , no metal roof , no solar panels.

Install a Wingard HD7694P antenna aimed at about 45 degree magnetic compass direction.

It is true that Kansas City is currently UHF channels 14 thru 51.

However when more UHF channels are sold off to the Cell phone and Wireless Broadband Industries.
The remaining UHF Tv channels that are left will be very crowded and that means that Tv broadcasters will go to the VHF high band Tv channels 7 thru 13.

The HD7694P antenna is designed to receive Tv channels 7 thru 51.

A antenna installed in a attic will last almost for ever.

So install the HD7694P.
Installing a Tv antenna that is designed to receive more Tv channels is not a crime.

For 1 Tv connected use no splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a simple common 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a simple common 3 way splitter.

For 4 Tv's connected use a simple common 4 way splitter.
