CM4221HD aiming for side reception

I am thinking of installing a CM4221HD in my attic.

I will aim it to Buffalo 129 degrees.

Will I receive Toronto stations at 54 degrees and Hamilton at 196 degrees or will I need a rotor?

I am thinking because of the strength of the signals from TO and Ham that I will pick them up. Thoughts anyone?

My location is LOS to TO / Ham and BUF.

I am located in Burlington just NW of the Lakeshore.

Hi John, I did check my position on the link.

I guess my question has more to do with, is it possible to pick up the stronger stations from the side of the antenna. Given I will have it lined up for Buffalo?

Maximum reception happens when the metal receiving elements of the antenna are broadside to the transmitter. If you will like to receive the american stations then I suggest the Winegard HD7697P mounted on the roof.

I doubt that you can see the Toronto stations while the antenna is pointed at Buffalo. There is no practical antenna design that can deal with 90 degree differences and have any appreciable gain. You will need a rotator or two antennas and two coax runs to an A/B switch at your TV.

For the time being, do not trust TVFool plots of future Canadian DTV assignments. If you want to keep up with what's happening in the Great White North, consult the OTA forum at digitalhome.ca. You can pose your reception question there, too, as they are very familiar with TVFool reports and you may stumble upon someone who has already dealt with your reception question.
